Activities
Port Barton is an ideal location to get away from it all. If idle contemplation in an idyllic setting is not your thing, Port Barton has plenty to offer. From Port Barton, you can charter a bangka (the traditional Philippine trimaran boat) to visit some of the beautiful islands within the municipality or a tour of the mangrove swamps that fringe some of the coastline and meet solitary fishermen in dugout canoes making their way through clear waters which serve as home to beautiful crabs, snakes and birds.
A short walk inland will take you past emerald green padi fields populated by caribou and egrets and on to a variety of eco-walks through rainforests as well as waterfalls (including the Pamuayan Waterfall) that await discovery and definition by more venturesome travelers.
A three minute amble from 360 Palawan will lead you to our friend, Doris, who runs Easy Diver. Originally from Germany, she has an intimate knowledge of the snorkeling and diving opportunities in the San Vicente municipality. Sadly, much of the vast coral reef in the municipality has been damaged by predatory fishing practices, but nature has an amazing capacity for regeneration and a dive trip with Doris will deepen your appreciation of the power of nature and the immense underwater possibilities of San Vicente.
